Blast Light Function & Importance

The LITE200 Blast Light provides concentrated illumination in areas where abrasive blasting conditions can make the work surface difficult to see.

A simplified operating arrangement can be represented as:

12V Power Source → 10-Foot Cord → LITE200 Blast Light → 35W Halogen Lamp → Focused 2400 CBCP Beam

During blasting, airborne abrasive, dust, equipment positioning, and enclosed work areas can reduce visibility. A dedicated blast light allows the operator to direct illumination toward the work surface, helping provide a clearer view of the area being cleaned or prepared.

The 2400 CBCP rating refers to the intensity at the center of the light's beam. CBCP is particularly useful for describing directional lighting because it represents peak beam intensity rather than total light output in all directions.

Proper blast-area illumination can help with:

  • Viewing the active blasting area
  • Monitoring surface-cleaning progress
  • Identifying areas requiring additional blasting
  • Improving visibility in confined or poorly illuminated areas
  • Inspecting the work surface during surface preparation
  • Maintaining a focused light source near the blasting operation

Because CBCP and lumens measure different characteristics of a light source, the 2400 CBCP rating should not be interpreted as 2400 lumens.

Replacement, Setup & Maintenance

Before installing or servicing the LITE200 12V Blast Light, disconnect the applicable electrical power source and make sure blasting equipment is safely shut down according to the equipment manufacturer's procedures.

Inspect the light assembly periodically for:

  • Cracked or damaged lens components
  • Damaged electrical cord insulation
  • Loose electrical connections
  • Worn or damaged strain-relief components
  • Lamp failure
  • Damaged mounting components
  • Abrasive accumulation around the light assembly
  • Physical impact damage

The 35W replacement halogen bulb is available separately under replacement bulb references LITE290284 / LITE284. When replacing the lamp, use the specified bulb type and wattage rather than installing a higher-wattage lamp.

Associated service components for this blast light family include a Pyrex lens with O-ring, lamp socket, outer lens retaining clip, body assembly, and replacement lamp, allowing individual wear or damaged components to be serviced where appropriate.

After service, verify that the lens, seals, retaining components, electrical connections, and mounting arrangement are properly secured before returning the light to operation.

Application & Important Notes

  • This listing is for the LITE200 complete 12V halogen blast light with 10-foot cord.
  • The light requires a compatible 12V electrical power source.
  • Rated lamp power is 35 watts with an approximate current draw of 2.91666 amps.
  • Light output is rated at 2400 CBCP (Center Beam Candle Power).
  • The supplied cord length is 10 feet.
  • This model is part of the LITE100 / LITE200 12V no-air blast light family.
  • Do not confuse the LITE200 with LITE200-075, LITE200-125, or LITE200-150 configurations that incorporate longer cord arrangements and a 120VAC-to-12VDC converter.
  • A 120VAC-to-12VDC converter is not specified as part of the standard LITE200 10-foot-cord configuration.
  • Verify that the available power source provides the correct voltage and sufficient current capacity before operation.
  • Use only the specified replacement lamp or a manufacturer-approved equivalent with the correct electrical characteristics.
  • Do not substitute a higher-wattage bulb, as doing so can increase electrical load and heat generation.
  • 2400 CBCP is a directional beam-intensity measurement and is not equivalent to 2400 lumens.
  • Inspect the cord and light assembly before use and discontinue operation if electrical insulation, connections, the lens, or other critical components are damaged.
  • Manufacturer information specifies that PB-31131 sealed control cord strain relief is required when the light is used with electrically conductive abrasives such as steel shot or steel grit.
  • Follow all applicable electrical, abrasive blasting, PPE, grounding, and equipment safety procedures for the specific blasting application.
  • This listing is for one LITE200 complete blast light assembly with 10-foot cord unless otherwise specified. Power converters, replacement bulbs, lenses, strain-relief components, and other accessories are sold separately unless explicitly included.
